With Black Friday fast approaching, everyone is looking for ways to get the best deal this November. Whether you need to buy something for your hubby, child, or parent— Black Friday serves as a 24 hour free for all where shoppers are pitted against each other with hopes of slashing items off their Christmas lists en masse.
To figure out the best Black Friday deals at specific stores, download the individual smart phone applications for each retailer, they’ll be sure to advertise their hottest deals. If you’re looking for something a little more general, and even additional savings on top of the Black Friday discounts, there are discount applications that can help you find the deal you’re looking for.
Let’s check a few of them out and see how they stack up against each other.
The Coupons app is one of the oldest coupon websites out there, and they also have a mobile application that brings deals and coupons from over 100,000 retailers. You can make a list of all the retailers you’d like to buy gifts from and the app will notify you whenever they’re running certain deals (during and after the Black the Friday Madness has happened).
Shopkick is a really interesting app because it doesn’t deal directly with discounts as much as it rewards users for shopping with participating retailers. Think of it as a loyalty program on your smartphone— whenever you buy something from one of the retailers that work with Shopkick you can earn points for all of your purchases, and use them to cut down costs on additional purchases.
DealNews is one of my personal favorites. They have a ton of cool features you can use to make saving money on your holiday (or regular) shopping easy. They get over 300 new deals on their application a day, making it one of the more active discount applications out there. One of my favorite things about this app is that you can share discounts with other users: I’m always a fan of any social functionality in these discount apps, makes it all seem a little more personable!
I’m not sure if Shopular is the only app with this functionality, but it was the first one I discovered. What really blows my mind with Shopular is their geo-location technology. This means that you can be alerted to discounts in retail outlets, when you’re walking past them. If you’re in a mall and pass a couple stores that you tend to frequent, the app will let you know if it has any worthwhile deals for you to take advantage of. The app even uses your past shopping history to make suggestions on what you may like now, or in the future (Insert fancy techy comment about artificial intelligence taking over the world here).
This app can be used year-round to get some stellar savings on your shopping, but it kicks into overdrive on Black Friday. You know how your mom would collect stacks upon stacks of coupon flyers and pamphlets? Well, Flipp digitizes all of those flyers so you can access all the deals and discounts in your area through one simple interface on your smartphone. You can even put together shopping lists within the app so you can get in and out of the store as fast as possible!
These apps come in extra handy during Black Friday, but that doesn’t mean they can’t save you some hard-earned dollars 365 days a year. All the apps above function outside of the holiday and will help you cut costs down on your holiday or even grocery shopping.
I hope this helps, please comment below if you know of any other apps that have helped you save money!
